Corrosion Engineer Job Opening


Houston Position: Corrosion Engineer - Metallurgist (Corrosion EXPERIENCE & NACE knowledge) - Oil & Gas Industry - 

US Citizen or Permanent Resident only - No H1B sponsorship at this time.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree in Metallurgy/Materials Science, Chemistry or equivalent discipline.

EXPERIENCE:
3+ years in a testing laboratory environment with specific knowledge of NACE standard methods for materials for use in H2S containing environments in oil and gas production (HIC/SWC, SSC, SCC etc.) Metallurgical experience required for post-test specimen evaluation. (MAY CONSIDER A CANDIDATE WITH LESS THAN 3 YEARS DEPENDING ON SCHOOLING, INTERNSHIPS, AND THE EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE ACTUALLY HAD... so definitely send me your information requested below, for review, if you are interested).

DUTIES:
Will include but not limited to
1 Project/Test protocol review and development
2 Design and execution of technological tests
3 Detailed scheduling of experiments and management of laboratory resources
4 Coordinate activities of laboratory technicians, ensuring completion of tasks on time and in a satisfactory manner
5 Evaluation and technical review of post-test specimens
6 Preparation of technical documents and reports on completed projects
7 Liaison and discussion with clients to maximize business opportunities
8 Ensuring that the corrosion lab work is performed in conformance with the Quality Management System of ISO 17025 and any other QMS specification to which the Houston Lab is accredited.
9 Driving continuous improvement efforts in the corrosion lab.

Coatings Engineer Job Opening - Houston, Texas

Currently recruiting for a Coatings Engineer.



Coatings Engineer (Polymer) (Full Relocation to Houston, Texas) -Great Global Company, Great Benefits.  Full Relocation Package for those not located in the Houston Region

1-5 Years Experience. HOWEVER, candidates with little to no experience, such as the new grads,we MAY consider, but MUST have hands on experience (Labs or internship or combination of the two) in a significant portion of the functions listed below.

The position/role is conducting physical testing, analytical testing, & failure analysis of paints and coatings (in conjunction with Metallurgical Engineers). This person would work on a team with metallurgical engineers qualifying welding procedures that will be used on clients' upcoming projects. In order to qualify these procedures standard test methods are used to quantify the weld strength, hardness, ductility, and weld soundness. These methods include mechanical testing, fracture mechanics, metallography, chemical analysis, and polymer testing.


Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or Material Science, with emphasis on Polymer Coatings

Strong knowledge from a top hands on bachelor program, including lab experience and/or internship in core functions of the key responsibilities could be considered.

• Knowledge of coatings as it relates to the Oil and Gas business (Not required, but preferred, and would at minimum need you to do a little research on the topic prior to interviewing and know how it relates to the experience you have).

• Solid working knowledge of multiple coating technologies and their application

• SSPC Certified Protective Coatings Specialist is a plus.

• Ability to communicate proficiently (verbal and written)

• Commitment to customer service while maintaining a professional demeanor.

• Proficient in Laboratory Test Methods and Quality Standards (ASTM, ISO, NACE)

• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct physical and analytical testing of fluid, structural, and thermal characteristics within coating materials.

• Conduct routine and non-routine coatings testing including but not limited to the following: SalT Fog, Taber Abrasion, Pull-Off Adhesion, Cathodic Disbondment, Water Absorption, Tensile Tests, Compression Tests, Impact Flexibility, and DSC.

• Conduct coatings testing and analysis within specified turn around times, adhering to a Corporate Quality System and applicable test methods.

• Interpret, validate results and data, and compile technical reports.

• Follow internal standard test procedures as well as national and international standards.

• Process and Schedule short and long test programs

• Communicate directly with customers to discuss potential or existing coating projects.

• Maintain equipment maintenance logs and perform regular equipment maintenance (if applicable)

• Perform to a high standard of quality

• Follow all relevant Safety and Health Policies and procedures
